The Silicon Valley Computer Genealogy Group is offering a handy new tool -- a 1-gigabyte flash drive that runs off the USB port on your computer. Members of the SVCGG can get the drive preloaded with useful family history search tools. It is also useful for backing up your computer genealogy database.

Our new Kingston USB 2.0 flash storage drive is in full compliance with USB specifications, and since it is a 2.0 drive, it handles data transfer 40 times faster than older USB 1.1 drives.  It is compatible with USB 1.1 drives.

It can be plugged into virtually any USB port in a Macintosh (OS 9.x or higher) or PC (ME/2000/XP).

The flash drive is self powered, with no external power required. It looks and functions like another hard drive on your computer. The users group provides a free 90-day warrantee, and the drive comes with a 5-year warrantee.

The drive costs $15 purchased online or by mail or fax. This includes the cost of shipping and handling to U.S./Canada destinations. The flash drive cost for shipping outside the U.S./Canada is $18.
